Teresa Pilla said the branch was trying to raise $8000 to go towards the fundraiser.
“To help the community in Lithgow,” she said.
The Salvation Army volunteers will be collecting donations for two weeks between May 21 and June 3, with a presence at the complex every day.
The Red Shield Appeal runs over April, May and June, with funds going towards The Salvation Army’s community programs and services such as family welfare assistance, refuges for women and children, homeless shelters, emergency and disaster relief and drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
