A spider caused a 53-year-old Wentworth Falls man to crash into a cement safety barrier on Wednesday, May 16.

Blue Mountains Police report the spider suddenly fell in the man’s lap after he turned left off the Great Western Highway onto Woodlands Road at Katoomba at about 3.40pm.
The airbags deployed and he was taken to hospital with minor injuries and shock.
Counterfeit notes
Chifley police have warned that counterfeit $50 and $100 notes have been circulating in the region.
Businesses in Bathurst had been seeing a number of the notes passed. Those generally targeted were fast food outlets, service stations and convenience stores.
Police urged business owners to educate their staff in how to identify fraudulent notes. If fraud is suspected, police urged businesses to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
