The new incarnation of LithGlow, running on May 12 and 13, will be bigger and brighter than ever, with Lithgow City Council collaborating with a range of museums and industrial locations to celebrate the city’s remarkable story of industrial innovation dating back to the late nineteenth century.

Power Station Tours

LithGlow and Energy Australia are offering you a final opportunity to tour the inner workings of the decommissioned Wallerawang Power Station before it is re-purposed.

Free tours will take place on Saturday, May 12 at 6pm, 6.30pm, 7pm, 7.30pm and 8pm. Bookings are essential, email community@energyaustraliansw.com.au or call 6352 8657 between 7am to 3:30pm.

Lithgow Main Street Tour

Take a tour of the historic Main Street of Lithgow and read all about the past uses of many of the shops and cafés. Grab yourself something to eat at one of the Main Street’s cafés, restaurants or bars.

St John the Evangelist Church Tours

St John the Evangelist Church at Wallerawang, with its Victorian Gothic architectural style, is a rare example of a major church building erected by private philanthropy.

Constructed between 1880-1881 on behalf of Mrs Georgina Abbott, as a memorial to her parents, this church contains numerous purpose-built artefacts, including the main altar, pews, lectern and baptismal font.  

For a gold coin donation you can tour the church on Main Street on Saturday, May 12 (11am to 8pm) and Sunday, May 13 (10am to midday).

Voices of Eskbank

One of the earliest house museums in the country, Eskbank House Museum is home to many objects which reflect the region’s development, including the role of influential industrials Thomas Brown, James Rutherford, William Sandford and the Hoskins brothers.  

Experience the Voices of Eskbank at night when archive photos will be projected onto buildings, giving you a unique insight into the people and moments of the time. Running on Saturday, May 12, from 6pm until 10pm, these projections can be seen from Inch Street.
