With the presence of blue green algae in the water, Lake Wallace is not suitable for any activities that involve direct contact with the water by humans or animals and will continue to be monitored.
However, the Red Alert for Lake Lyell is now lifted.
Sampling of the lakes is continuing and an updated alert status will be reported when information becomes available.
More information on algae alerts is available from the algal information line maintained by the NSW Office of Water, at 1800 999 457 or the NSW Office of Water web page at www.water.nsw.gov.au.
