If residents need to enter the station they will have to go to the Railway Parade entrance on the other side of the station.
There will be network improvement works between Mount Victoria and Lithgow from Monday, April 30 to Saturday, May 12.
Works are taking place to improve service reliability and to reduce the need for ongoing maintenance according to NSW TrainLink.
Works that will be taking place are:
- New intercity fleet enabling works
- Lithgow area re-signalling enabling works
- Zig-Zag tunnels track slab and drainage works
- Cutting works at Zig-Zag tunnels
- Rail grinding to reduce noise and rail wear
- Routine civil, track, signal and electrical maintenance
- Litter and graffiti removal
- Vegetation maintenance
Residents who reside on Main Street have received a pamphlet to inform them of the works while businesses received a drop by from construction workers.
Sydney Trains is asking for residents patience and understanding while the works get underway.
Sydney Trains is undertaking this work on behalf of NSW TrainLink.
Noise
These works may create additional noise on weeknights and NSW TrainLink has issued an apology for the inconvenience this may cause.
Work will take place around the clock from 2am on Monday, April 30 until 2am on Saturday, May 12.
TrainLink expects that building equipment may be delivered to the work-site outside of this time frame and due to travel restrictions on large vehicles, some of these deliveries may need to take place at night.
Diesel work trains will also be kept on site and may be idling for extended periods creating extended periods of loud noises. Finishing works may take place following this period, including the removal of equipment.
Traffic and parking
Heavy vehicles will be using local streets to access parts of the rail corridor and while they plan to park vehicles inside the rail corridor wherever possible, residents are to be aware that on street parking may be limited near work-sites.
