The Capertee and District Progress Association is hosting a fundraising day on Sunday, April 29, to raise money for the family who lost their daughter in a house fire in Capertee earlier this month.

The blaze entirely destroyed their home and took the life of two-year-old girl, Angel.
Two adults and two children, a four-year-old and a one-year-old managed to escape.
“We are holding a fundraiser for the family of the little girl, Angel, who died in the house fire at Capertee,” Judy Eckersley, vice president of the association said.
“There will be markets and a car boot sale, chocolate wheel, jumping castle and live music.”
The association will also be hosting a sausage sizzle and the band ‘Bush Rock’ will provide entertainment.
Those wanting to participate in the car boot sale can just turn up on the day.
“The stalls are ten dollars each and that booking fee will go towards the family,” Ms Eckersley said.
“You’ve just got to show up on the day, anytime from 7.30am on wards.”
Ms Eckersley said she was delighted with the help she has received for the day.
“There has been a great response from businesses in Lithgow, donating stuff for the chocolate wheel.
“So many people have been asking ‘what can we do to help?’, it’s been good.”
The Capertee Memorial Hall has been acting as a collection point for furniture and household items for the family.
Ms Eckersley said they are no longer accepting donated items because they have collected enough.
“We’ve got a heap of stuff in the hall for them, furniture and clothes.”
She said the association did not have a target amount of money they wanted to raise.
“No, we really haven’t set out with a goal, we just want to do the best we can.”
The fundraising market day goes from 9am-2pm on Sunday, April 29, at the Capertee Memorial Hall on the Castlereagh Highway.
