Alex Anderson has been presented with an ambassador for peace medal by deputy mayor Wayne McAndrew at an Anzac day ceremony at Three Tree Lodge on Tuesday, April 24.

Mr Anderson received his medal for his service in the Korean war from 1950-1953.
The presentation was held in front of a crowd of 50. Lithgow RSL sub-branch president Ron Murphy opened with a speech about World War I and World War II before playing the last post and conducting one minute silence.
Deputy Mayor Wayne McAndrew had the honour of presenting Mr Anderson with his medal, but before he did so, read out a snapshot of the incredible life Mr Anderson has led.
“He has led a remarkable life and is a remarkable man,” Councillor McAndrew said.
“The Republic of South Korea wants to recognise the work he did and the time he spent to help them find peace, so they offer their everlasting gratitude.”
