Kate belongs to the Blue Mountains medieval reenactment group ‘Dismal Fogs’, who meet regularly to practice medieval pastimes like archery, feasting and even hunting for the Mountains’ mythical black panther, while using equipment and garb mostly made by themselves.
Kate is a mean seamstress who can sew you everything from Roman underwear to a gown worthy of Queen Elizabeth I, all while regaling you with tales in Old English.
In this conversation Kate explains the attraction of the medieval and why exactly there is a portion of Australians who bow down to a king.
