The Pair beat the Scottish duo of Alan Clyne and Greg Lobban 11-8 11-5 in just 30 minutes to book a place in the decider.
It ensures Palmer and Alexander will come away with a silver medal at worst, but they have a strong chance of leaving with gold after going undefeated through their first four matches.
They will take on the English pair of Daryl Selby and Adrian Waller at 1pm on Sunday.
Despite being in vintage form, Palmer confirmed it would be his last Games appearance.
"This is it. I think my wife would kill me if I signed up for another one. I wanted one more taste of it and I can't wait for tomorrow," Palmer told AAP.
"My goal was to win a medal and to try to help Zac win his first one, and now that we're guaranteed one, it's is a good feeling. But we don't want to sit back on that, we want to get the gold now."
