Wallerawang Public School students Kara Handley and Gabrielle Dray travelled to Cowra for the Western girls primary soccer trials where they were successful in gaining selection to represent the Western Region.
The girls will travel to Kiama for the next stage of the competition.
Kade Anderson was selected in the Western PSSA primary boys hockey team for the second consecutive year.
He will travel to Narellan to play in the NSW PSSA Championships in June.
Cooerwull Public School student Deklin Unsworth impressed selectors at the recent Western Hockey Trials.
As a talented year six student Deklins versatility came to the fore when he was selected as goalkeeper for the upcoming PSSA State Championships in Narellan in Term 2.
“Deklin plays fullback comfortably as well with accurate hitting and precision tackling, congratulations and good luck Dek,” community liaison officer Deanna Goodsell said.
School captain and gifted sportsman Ryan Wells was selected in the Western PSSA Soccer team.
Ryan and year four student Cooper Curran attended the trials in Parkes amongst 80 other students.
Ryan, a seasoned all-round athlete caught selector’s eyes playing in the backs with his solid defence and distribution.
Ryan will play in the NSW PSSA State Championships in Kareela in week five next term.
“A big thank you to Cooper’s dad Chris Curran, who at short notice coached a team with students from across the Central West, and congratulations to Ryan,” Ms Goodsell said.
