The teams that qualified were the under 12 girls for division two, under 12 boys for division one, under 14s, 16s and 18s boys for the championship league.
“Even though the under 14 girls missed the finals they are a relatively new team with a number of girls only taking up basketball this year and if they stay together, we at Lithgow Basketball know they will be knocking on the door next year,” Lithgow basketball director, Richard Marjoram said.
Marjoram said the junior teams have benefited from coaching director Adam Marjoram, who set up a development program a few years ago.
“He works with all coaches and players to advance new styles of play, such as defence and offence skills and this year he has been well supported by American import Terrence Durham and Jaidyn Goodwin,” he said.
Lithgow Lazers players and coaches, Heidi Inwood, Suzie Morris, Callum Flynn, Kyle O’Connor, Scott Simcoe, Adam Marjoram and Richard Marjoram stepped up to help referee matches on the day.

Richard Marjoram said it has been a long time since Lithgow last had the opportunity to host a round of the junior league.
“It was a great weekend and well supported,” he said.
The day was organised by Jill Marjoram who worked with NSW Basketball as court supervisor, referee rostering and making sure games were on time.
Kelly Campbell organised a raffle and barbecue while the Tin Shed provided their coffee van for parents.
Rae Swift, Pete Gillard and Carrol Wallace worked tirelessly in the canteen while Debbie and Bruce Kiers along with Peter Baxter from NSW Basketball talked to coaches and referees.
“Congratulations to all teams and from Lithgow Association, parents and supporters we wish them all the best in the play offs, win or lose we are proud of local talent,” Marjoram said.
“We also want to thank the coaching staff of these teams for their commitment in giving up their time to train and travel away with these teams,” he said.
