This year the sculptures of soldiers in the laneway leading up to Woolworths will be joined by nurses, made by Lithgow Men’s Shed and painted by Tidy Towns’ George Quinell.
Mr Quinell was busy putting up the nurses on Monday morning
“There’s no mention of nurses during Anzac ceremonies so I though it would be good to give them a bit of a go,” he said.
Secretary of Tidy Towns Kathleen Compton thanked the groups involved and Lithgow City Council.
“People have walked past this morning and it has brought tears to their eyes, so it is receiving an emotional response.”
