Work has begun on Eskbank Street between Main Street and Railway Parade, with barricades blocking both entrances to the street.

The works at the intersection are expected to take up to eight weeks, with drivers being warned they would not be able to turn left from Main Street onto Eskbank street during that time.
Work has been progressing on the northern side of Eskbank Street with concrete having been poured for the Grand Central and ANZ footpaths.
The pit in the middle of the road is yet to be repaired, with concrete to be poured in that area.
At Cook Street Plaza the brick paving and grouting has been completed.

The rear of Cook Street will be following some design changes for additional cost saving measures, and will now include lighting, seating and green walls.
Works manager of Lithgow City Council, Jonathon Edgecombe said with everything running to schedule Lithgow Council was doing everything in their power to shorten the impact to local businesses.
“We have recently made modifications to remove disruption to Burns Lane,” he said.
Cook Street Plaza has opened up for pedestrians to walk through and council has removed the no parking areas around Australia post office.
Council said that more people are returning to Main Street and businesses are starting to get their customer base back.
“People who were affected are finding that people are coming back to Main Street,” economic development manager, Andrew Powrie said.
