A look at Ironfest of the past: photos from 2007 – 2012 | Photos

Is this Australia’s most wackiest, colourful festival? Celebrating it’s 18th year this year Ironfest has grown since it first started in 2000 as an event to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the birth of steel in Australia.

The first event consisted of a exhibition of metal sculptures, painting and drawings, a blacksmith demonstration and metal music by local band The Mullpigs.

It has grown year on year ever since. In 2007 it was recognised by the NSW Government as an event of state significance and in 2009 it attracted over 10,000 people.

This year, Ironfest 2018 Wild West’s theme will showcase new events, displays and features and is expected to draw high numbers once again.
