“It’s been a good day and I’m happy the rain held off,” president of the New Era Cup, Wayne Morgan said.
The competition was fierce but CSU dominated the girls league tag and ended up winning the competition in a big final against Portland 34-0.
“The girls have been great, there are returning players and new players and the women’s teams keep getting bigger,” Morgan said.

In a tight field the men’s finals went down to a count back between Blackheath, CSU and Orange.
It ended up being played between the Blackheath Blackcats and Orange Barbarians, with Orange only finishing their previous game 15 minutes prior.
“They’ve never played each other in a grand final before so it should be interesting,” Morgan said.
The Orange Barbarians managed to come from behind to pull off a win 22-14.
“It’s been a great day, with lots of locals coming out to support the teams and enjoy themselves,” he said.
