It was a big day for Elka’s school, Lithgow St Patrick’s Primary, which will be sending three students on to the Polding event at Homebush.
It has been a busy season for the St Patrick’s Primary School swimming squad, which sent nine students to the Dubbo Diocesan carnival.
Alex Evans went into the Dubbo event with the title of Eastern Region 11 years boys champion.
He continued his strong form, qualifying for the Polding event in Sydney in the 50m backstroke.
Nine-year-old Amy Kennedy will also go on to compete in the 50m freestyle.
But Elka Lee was the standout performer of the day, winning a place through to Homebush in the 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 200m individual medley.
St Patrick’s teacher Jessica Wilson said the school was very proud of all its representative swimmers. The 26 at the Eastern Region Catholic schools championships combined points to earn the title of top school.
