After a highly successful school holiday sojourn in New Zealand as part of the NSW team selected to compete at the Colgate Gates, the Lithgow Public School student was soon off again, this time to compete in the Athletics NSW Country Championships in Wollongong.
Pitted against the best in his age group, Angus snagged six gold medals in the shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, 100m and 200m sprint events.
Angus followed that up in his next competition with another four gold medals. He was competing at the regional championships at Dubbo on the weekend of February 3-4.
He was only allowed to compete in four events and certainly made them count. He won gold medals in shot put, discus, javelin and long jump, breaking three records in the process.
Angus had a hugely successful 2017, a run which included taking home a medal haul from the Pacific School Games in Adelaide.
He also has a very busy swimming season ahead as the all-rounder takes to the pool for the competition season.
