It will be the second time Kable has played for the team after NSW contested the championships in 2017.
“We have to go through a number of camps and training days for the selection process,” Kable said.
She said she was familiar with all of the players in the 2018 squad.
“Yeah, I have played with all of them before,” she said.
“We didn’t go too well last year, it wasn’t a great tournament. But we’ll be trying to improve that for sure.”
Kable said that juggling Year 12 and representative hockey (she will also be playing for the All Schools National team in 2018) has required some organisation.
“Yeah, I have thought about it a bit and had to organise time off school. My school, All Saints’ [College] in Bathurst has been really supportive so they have allowed me to miss my trials. I have the opportunity to do them when I get back,” she said.
Kable confirmed that she has also been allowed time off school to play with the All Schools National team in South Africa.
Kable said she will continue to pursue her hockey career beyond high school.
“I’m hoping to move to Sydney to really focus on my hockey. But right now I’m just focussing on getting through school.”
