She is hoping to bring back a medal for her home state after playing for South Australia in the under 15s nationals last year.
“Although they did not have a great tournament, it was great for me personally as I played in many different positions from striker right through to defender which was very different for me," she said of last year’s competition.
“I’m looking forward to playing once again with NSW. We have trained only once so it will be good to join the team again on Monday for some final training before we start in Goulburn on Tuesday.”
Emily said she had been training hard over the summer.
“Indoor hockey is very fast and played low so it’s essential to be very fit.
“We don’t actually have an indoor comp in Lithgow at the moment so it’s hard to train with stick and ball on the court but I always keep my fitness training up on my own.
“I’ve been doing this through the holidays leading up to the nationals.”
She said she was looking forward to playing a ‘good tournament’.
