Mitchell’s under 16s continue to brush their competition aside after a comfortable six wicket win over Lachlan in their Inter-council fixture at Cowra on Sunday.

Lithgow’s Tanvir Singh again led the way with the ball for Mitchell as his side bowled out Lachlan for a below par 118.
Singh snared 4-26 from his 10 overs with two maidens.
He shared the new ball with Ben Mitchell who returned the incredible figures of 0-7 off five overs.
Young Lithgow spinner Will Hutchison continued to pile on the pressure when handed the ball as he claimed 1-3 from 4.3 overs.
Lachlan Endacott picked up 2-13 from six overs while Hugh Parsons, Ben Cant and Hugh Middleton also picked up a wicket each.
“Tanvir picked up four wickets for us and Ben [Mitchell] got 0-7 from five overs, which was ridiculously good. They both did a great job in the early overs,” Mitchell coach Shane Broes said.
A second half century in as many games from Bathurst’s Bailey Brien helped the Mitchell boys chase down the hosts total of 118 with six wickets in hand.
Victory for Mitchell comes after their back-to-back wins over Macquarie Cricket Council in the opening two rounds.
It also ensures the under 16s title will return to Mitchell hands, taking back the crown from Macquarie with two rounds still to spare.
Mitchell last won the title in 2014-15.
Brien led the way with 64 runs. Fellow opener Blake Weymouth was the next best with 18.
“Bailey and Ben scored 75 for the opening wicket. When you’re chasing 118 it can be hard to keep the boys motivated, and a few of our guys lost their way,” Broes said.
Mitchell lost 3-8 at one stage during their chase but their success never looked in doubt as Ben Mitchell (12) helped finish the chase.
The visitors chased down the target with more than 20 overs to spare.
Mitchell have one more meeting against Lachlan in Bathurst on December 3 in their bid to complete an unbeaten season.
Broes said the team will need to up their game on home turf.
“We didn’t field as well as I would have liked and we bowled 16 wides which was a bit ordinary. I think the boys took their foot off the pedal after those first few wickets,” he said.
“We’d like to try and have an undefeated season. It’s something we haven’t achieved for some time.
“Hopefully Lachlan can bring a better performance to Bathurst. I believe they were missing a couple of players in this match, and I know we’ll have three players away for the next game as well.
“Our three younger guys – Ben Weymouth, Lachlan Endacott and Hugh Middleton – will be away at CHS under 15s trials, and we could also be missing Will Hutchison.”
Lachlan play Macquarie on November 26 before their trip to Bathurst.
