My name is David Gates and I am proud to be the Headmaster at The Scots School. I believe in a broadly based education which aims to develop well rounded students who are ready for tertiary study, further training or work placement, and responsible adults willing and ready to contribute to their community. At The Scots School, our students have the opportunity to excel. In 2016, 96% of our Year 12 candidates received an Early Entry offer to university courses and we are looking forward to strong HSC results again from our Class of 2017. Each student is well known to teachers and is able to actively participate in their classes.
I believe that students should be challenged in a wide variety of activities to take them out of their comfort zone in order to experience personal growth. At The Scots School, there is a strong commitment to co-curricular programs being actively involved in student leadership development, coaching sporting teams and outdoor education. This is evident in our outstanding success in the Cattle Team at the Royal Sydney Show and our excellent debating and chess teams. It also shows in the outstanding performances of our music program which includes Highland Dancing and the Pipes and Drums, the wonderful promotion program in the Cadets as well as our behaviour and sportsmanship on the sporting field.
Our Lithgow campus is in its 11th year of providing wonderful education for Lithgow students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. Students have just completed their Orientation Days for 2018 and are looking forward to becoming a part of this vibrant community, however, enrolment is still possible for 2018.

As of this week, the Presbyterian Church in NSW is progressing towards the purchase of All Saints’ College and much of 2018 will be spent deciding how best to maximise the use of the facilities of both Bathurst campuses so that the schools can operate together in 2019. This is very exciting news for our school and will optimise the facilities and learning experiences for all students. It is envisaged that there will be only minimal changes to the Lithgow campus.
I invite you to visit us at The Scots School. Please call the Enrolments and Promotions Officer, Mrs Lynda Ireland on 02 6331 2766 to organise a personal tour and to discuss how The Scots School can benefit your child.
