The winner’s of Haunted’s spooky story competition have been selected, after the Lithgow Mercury received some very scary entries.
Lithgow resident Louise Collins won the adults section with her true tale about a father who is a bit too involved in the protagonist’s journey home – especially considering he has passed away. Highly commended went to Madeline Spice’s ‘Mute’.
16-year-old Phoebe Thurlow won the teenage category for her story ‘Vermilion’, a creative take on a ghost tale – where it’s not the ghosts you are most of afraid of.
13-year-old Jed Young took second place with his story ‘The Horror Around Me’. Riley Bell was highly commended for his story ‘The Wolf in the Woods’.
