In the early rounds Lance Gillespie, Tony McSorley and Jim McMahon were too good for Chris Neaves Tony Holden and Daryl McSorley winning 26-15.
Craig Brown, Craig Pugsley and Peter Piggott claimed victory over Ted Doggett, Joe Menchin and Geoff Flynn, the score being 35-13.
The semi-finals saw Piggott pitted against McMahon.
While the scores were close in the early stages it was Piggott’s team that finished strongly as they ran out 27-10 winners.
The second semi saw Steve Jackson, Dave Nunan and Dick Bulkeley up against Ian Pender, Peter Matchett and Kevin Pender.
Once again the game was close in the early ends but a run of multiples saw Jackson get out to a 16-6 lead.
Pender fought back but Jackson’s side claimed the win 25-10.
In social bowls, Pommie Williams, Kim Alexander and Mike McNamara began slowly as Bruce Robinson, Greg Tilley and Ian McMillan were on fire early racing to a 11-0 lead.
McNamara’s team fought back to trail 12-11 and then 15-16 but a triple on the last end saw McMillan’s side win 19-15.
The Thursday night Turnabout Triples begin this week so get there early or let Pommie know if you wish to be involved.
