Sunny conditions paved the way for a very exciting Workies Women’s Bowling Club Consistency Championship with Judy Kennedy winning the hotly contested final over Ruth Harries’ 150-140 points after 29 ends.

Harries, whose experience was showing in the early part of the game, at the 10th end had a comfortable 57-43 lead.
Kennedy started to get her eye in and playing her usual accurate draw bowls, scored a couple of 9s and 10s and on the 20th end to lead 105-95.
Play changed after each end and both players were engaged in a fight to see who could get to the magical 150 points first.
Excited spectators were enthralled with the thrilling game and after some great bowls both players were tied at 140 points each.
Kennedy played an amazing last end holding her nerve and scored the elusive 10 points to win 150-140.
Both players are to be congratulated on a great match but it was Kennedy to who came away with the championship.
