“When we started the business we noticed there are issues for residents wanting to access free WiFi in Lithgow,” Ron Murray the co-owner of WiFi Hub said.
“We were looking to identify a communal area that we could promote Wifi Hub through, as well as give something back to the public.”
Public users of the hotspot can access free WiFi for half-an-hour per day at the park. They have to provide an email address to sign in.
Mr Murray recommended sitting at the rotunda to pick up the strongest signal.
"We hope that people will use it when they are out with their family and friends to take photos in the park and share them on social media, or to send pictures over email,” he said.
“Also on big event days like ANZAC Day, Lithglo and Australia Day we think the WiFi will be used extensively.”
Mr Murray and his wife Jo launched their internet business this year in conjunction with Central West Information Technology.
