A family friendly event is being held at Lake Pillans from 10am-12pm to help establish some native trees and shrubs at the wetland reserve, an important site for birds and wildlife in the Lithgow area.
National Tree Day events are usually held in Australia in July however organisers in Lithgow decided to wait for the warmer temperatures of spring.
The planting group will meet at the Blast Furnace car park.
Participants are encouraged to wear sturdy enclosed shoes, a hat and “sun smart” clothes. Drinking water, gloves and a digging tool if you have them are also recommended.
Light refreshments will be provided.
