A total of $28,507 was raised on the night.
The Trek4Kidz raises funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation go to grant hundreds of life-changing wishes or transform the hospital experience for thousands of sick children at hospitals around Australia.
“We had an absolutely fantastic night, couldn’t have asked for a better night actually,” organiser Geoffrey Sheather said.
Mr Sheather wanted to show his appreciation to a huge group of people including his family, local businesses and the Lithgow community.
“There just isn’t enough room in the paper to thank everyone,” he said.
He thanked Club Lithgow for hosting the event as well as the auctioneers from Bowyer and Livermore in Bathurst for doing a “fantastic job”.
The trek itself is an annual week long event where a dedicated group explores different regional areas of Australia by car.
This year’s trek will cover 2800 kiometres across three states and one territory over seven days starting on August 19.
Mr Sheather will be taking on the trek for the second year running with fellow Lithgow locals, brother Neville Sheather and Richard Perry.
