With just one loss from 13 outings, City sits on top of the ladder heading into this Saturday’s final round of the regular home and away season.
Though defending premiers Lithgow Panthers are two points behind and still in contention for the minor premiership, if City can beat Parkes it will not be dislodged from the top of the ladder.
City beat Parkes, who will finish the year in fifth, earlier this season and are favoured to produce something similar to that 4-0 result.
Coach Lisa Quinn is confident her players can get the job done, but is not underestimating the threat Parkes could pose.
“It’s [minor premiership] one win away, but we are only two points in front. But if we lose this game I think it will be us not playing well, I am confident we can come away with the win,” she said.
“I think they have been unpredictable and that is what makes them dangerous. Parkes being at home, last game, it’s been a short season, I’m sure they are going to have a crowd behind them because they always manage to pull in a bit of a crowd, they will be wanting to go out with a bang.
“We’ll be going out to play as hard as we can and preparing for the finals knowing that we are in it. We definitely want to come away as minor premiers.”
Over the last three weeks City has scored 15 goals – which have been shared across nine players - and not conceded once as it build towards the finals. It is a pleasing sign for Quinn, who wants to play the grand final qualifier next week on home turf.
“I’m excited with how their performances have been, it is showing that we are moving in the right direction,” she said.
“Every game and every week is different, but we have definitely shown that we are consistent and that is in our favour.”
Bathurst City will take on Parkes from 1.30pm on Saturday in Parkes.
