The scholarship provides up to $30,000 to help aspiring students cover the cost of their studies. It is also open to those who have recently started their course.
Applications will be accepted from any resident of the Lithgow LGA who is an Australian citizen under the age of 26 before July 1 this year.
Trustees will seek to award the scholarship to one or more individuals who wish to contribute to the betterment of society through their future career.
In 2017, the scholarship was jointly awarded to Keely Newham and Max Arkley-Smith, Lithgow High School’s 2016 captains.
Keely is studying a Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies / Bachelor of International Studies at the University of Wollongong.
In the future, she is interested in working overseas to assist disadvantaged countries through the United Nations.
Max commenced a Bachelor of Science and Business at the University of New South Wales in the second semester this year.
Eventually he would like to establish a career where he can make a positive impact and serve people.
Applications will close on Friday, August 11 and interviews for short-listed candidates will take place from Thursday, September 7.
