The winter competition has been delayed by a week due to wet weather.
“We would like to welcome the new players to the competition and hope they enjoy their tennis,” player Lorraine Dowler said.
“All ladies were keen and eager to play round two.”
Gremlins v Wizards
The results on the day were Gremlins won 2 sets, 35 games to Wizards 4 sets, 31 games.
Best player for Gremlins was Leanne Fitzgerald who showed great skills both on the net and at the back.
Best for player for Wizards was Carol Banks who played strongly all day.
Goblins v Trolls
Goblins won 5 sets, 41 games to Trolls 1 set, 25 games.
Best player for Goblins was Leanne Morgan with her powerful serve.
Best player for Trolls was Julie Grant who had a great all-round game and Rose Rust showed great consistency.
Next week’s draw is Goblins v Wizards, Witches v Gremlins. Trolls have a bye. Goblins are on cake duty.
