The sold-out event at the Lithgow Workmen’s club was organised in conjunction with the Garden Clubs of Australia and was a chance for Lithgow Garden Club members to meet flora enthusiasts from surrounding areas.
Mr Georgiadis, the host of ABC program ‘Gardening Australia’, addressed the club members about his involvement in various gardening organisations and his efforts to educate people on how to grow healthy food.
President of Garden Clubs of Australia George Hoad spoke on the history and aims of the national orgnanisation.
Maureen Ford from the Lithgow Garden Club was presented with the Anne Williams Clarke Medallion from Garden Clubs Australia by Mr Hoad.
The award was in recognition of many years of service to the local community in floral art judging, frequently opening her beautiful garden to visitors and her yearly wins in the Lithgow Show’s horticultural competitions.
At this year’s show Maureen Ford was the champion of the Miscellaneous Flowers and Bonsai exhibits.
The audience of about a hundred gardeners were treated to morning tea and lunch.
