Craig Pugsley and Tony Holden took to the green against Greg Hilliard and Peter Matchett in what looked an even match. Hilliard and Matchett took the fun out of the contest when they led 8-nil after six ends.
It took to the 14 ends before Pugsley and Holden levelled on 12-all.
Hilliard and Matchett proved too classy as they won 23-15.
Winners on the day were Kim Alexander Pommie Williams and George Glencorse who defeated Dave Nunan, Dick Bulkeley and Bob Ray.
Nunan got a dream start, picking up a 5 early, but then had a little relax as Alexander shot to a 12-6 lead.
With the score at 9-12, Nunan looked to be back in the game but he could only score three more shots to go down 28-12.
