I’m sure any parent has answered this sort of question hundreds of times.
‘Why is the sky blue?’, ‘Why can’t I …?’, ‘Why did my pet have to die?’, ‘Why do the stars twinkle?’ and so on.
Well, at the Easter Family Festival in Portland on Easter Saturday, we were encouraged to consider the WHY of Easter.
This was in the setting of lots of fun and community activities.

You could have your face painted, make juggling balls, balloon sculpt, jump the jumping castles, have a go at croquet, chat to the local Fire Brigade and SES folks, consider the prayers of your heart, join in some amazing craft activities or find some good books to take home.
Maybe you would just sit and enjoy the hospitality cuppas whilst relaxing to the sound of the musicians and singers – Jaque and Liz; Paula and Brigitte; also our talented Brian Kinney with his piano accordian.
Geoff Welsman helped us consider the important God and us questions. Of course for the young or young at heart there was the kids’ carpentry, stilt walking, the elusive jaffa smasha, giant jigsaw puzzles, put hockey, hookey board, kids’ carpentry and more. Together with others you could enjoy parachute activities and water balloon volleyball.
The fit line dancers even helped us have a go!
