An inmate of Lithgow’s correctional facility was caught in the possession of 16.3 grams of Oxymetholone tablets, a prohibited steroid, in the process of being admitted to the prison after transferring from Parklea Correctional Centre on September 1, 2016.
Oxymetholone is a prohibited androgenic steroid that can be used to stimulate muscle growth.
The inmate, Ahmed Refaieh, was sentenced to three months in prison for the possession of a prohibited drug.
Mr Rafaieh is currently in Lithgow Prison awaiting trial for a murder charge.
Driving under the influence of Ice
Kendall Maree McEnzie of Bowenfels has been fined a total of $1,100 for possession of drugs and driving under the influence of the drug known as ice.
Ms McEnzie was found to be in the possession of cannabis twice during vehicles searches conducted in Lithgow.
On November 5, 2016, Ms McEnzie tested positive to methylamphetamine (ice) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC: the psychoactive component of cannabis) during a Random Breath and Drug Test conducted on Main Street, Lithgow.
She was charged with driving with illicit drugs in her bloodstream.
Ms McEnzie pleaded guilty to all three charges and has had her license disqualified for 12 months.
Portland man convicted of assault
Kayne Ty McDougall of Portland has been placed on a good behaviour bond after pleading guilty to common assault.
Mr McDougall was convicted for an incident of assault which took place in Bowenfels on February 27, 2017.
