Usman Mahmood was the co-ordinator for a group that cleaned up Queen Elizabeth Park.
“The grassed areas were quite clean but the garden beds had quite a bit of rubbish. Primarily it was plastic bottles, glass bottles and drink cans,” he said.
“We would have liked to cross the road and do more but we only had small numbers.”
It was Mr Mahmood’s 14th Clean Up Australia Day and his children also enjoyed taking part in the activities.
They cleaned up four large bags of rubbish from the park.
