The sale of the old Portland Hospital with its three original administration buildings and the "Coleman House" former aged care facility will go to auction on December 16.
Following the opening of the Portland Tabulam Health Centre in 2006, the old Portland Hospital was no longer required.
A Property NSW spokesperson said the old Portland Hospital was built in 1912 and is listed as an item of local significance in the Lithgow Local Environment Plan 2014. The site is not listed on the State Heritage Register.
“There are opportunities to adaptively reuse the existing hospital buildings for residential or medical purposes, subject to Council approval.
“Property NSW is providing a heritage report to all prospective purchasers, which advises that the existing hospital buildings should be retained,” the spokesperson said.
LJ Hooker Lithgow are looking after the sale and will run the auction.
