Williams had dinner at the local establishment with Lithgow’s Joe Inzitari and Federation of Italia Rugby League players ahead of their matches against Western Rams last weekend.
FIRLA players had the chance to bond over a meal and get to know other teammates, and Mr Inzitari—coach of the Under 16s side—said all the boys enjoyed the night.
“It was more of a social thing rather than a strategy type of night,” he said.
“Tony was there to promote our games on the weekend… and, really, who wouldn’t look up to him.”
Getting to mingle with a current NRL star may have been the inspiration the sides needed, as they took two victories over the weekend against the Rams.
More than a thousand people watched on at Bathurst’s Carrington Park on Saturday and the games made for exciting viewing.
