It was an intense, grueling few days for both the Arrows and Waratahs sides (women’s and men’s respectively) and our Lithgow players have helped NSW take home a podium finish.
Hunter was selected for the Junior World Cup squad after her performance, lining her up to play in Santiago, Chile next month and bringing the light at the end of the Olympic tunnel a little closer.
For Wilson and Gillard it’s back home and to the books as they figure out their next move for where their hockey will take them.
The men’s Junior World Cup squad will be announced in a couple of months and Sharp is anxiously awaiting any news.
Sharp said the whole experience was great, and looks forward to continue playing for Ryde in Sydney.
Wilson is now finishing Year 12, and hopefully going to university next year, but will keep up with her hockey and plans to play on in the Sydney Metro League.
They’d like to thank their parents, coaches at home and Hunters Hill Hockey Club for their support.
The Mercury team congratulates all our players and wishes them all the best.
