MEMBER for Bathurst Paul Toole has praised the work of State Emergency Service members at a presentation to two of Lithgow’s special SES volunteers.
“This was such a special occasion where the presentation ceremony recognised the services of Kim and Dee Cummins as volunteer members of the SES,” Mr Toole said.
“It was a privilege to have the opportunity to present these members from the Lithgow and Portland Units replacement NSW SES Long Service Awards including their NSW SES Long Service Medals.
“Tragically Kim and Dee lost their NSW SES Long Service Awards and Medals in a house fire late last year when they lost all of their possessions.
“Every community benefits from the extraordinary contribution that our SES volunteers make and to acknowledge their dedication and commitment is something which should be done at every opportunity.
“To give Kim and Dee replacements of their much treasured medals meant such a great deal to them,” Mr Toole said.
NSW SES is a volunteer-based organisation that provides emergency assistance to the people of NSW 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
It is the 9000 volunteers across the state that makes this possible.
