The Bears a perfect start to their 2014 campaign.
Their first win was a 28-4 win over CSU Blue at Bathurst before playing at home in atrocious freezing conditions, posted an impressive 26-nil win over Villages.
The driving force in their wins has been player-coach Brett Ranse, who defies Mother Nature by playing even though he is well on the wrong side of the 30.
The forwards have been well led by last year’s player of the year Jim Reinhardt, who has been a real powerhouse.
Ranse has been particularly pleased with his side’s defence, having only given up one try in their two games.
Meanwhile the Warriors are one and one, having lost their first match 34-16 against CSU Yellow before bouncing back on their home ground to score a 30-16 win over Villages.
The win was all the more impressive as their captain coach Adam Belbin was sidelined for the match.
Played in wet and cold weather, ball handling was difficult, but Wallerawang mastered conditions to score their first win of the season.
Halfback Josh Jones was excellent in attack, and also enjoyed a good day with the boot.
