FOR all those young women who may have been interested in entering the Showgirl Competition, well you can sit back, relax and take your time in your preparations. The event has now been postponed until mid January, according to a spokesperson for the Lithgow Show Society. And the reason? Put it all down to education, what with the Higher School Certificate now under way and also university commitments. At least it gives you plenty of time to work on your skills for this important event. Any inquiries can be directed to the Major Entertainment Co-ordinator Lee Wiggins on 0409 615 500.
A treat with Fast Ed
TREEVIEW Estates’ Food and Wine Fair is getting bigger and better with each year it is held. Coming up on Saturday October 26, the event (now in its third year) has one of Australia’s best-loved TV chefs and food authors, Fast Ed attending. Better known as the cooking presenter on Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens, Ed will be enlightening a burgeoning crowd at Treeview Estates with his fast paced and entertaining live cooking demonstrations focussing on creating fresh and delicious meals on a budget, and in a hurry. Throughout the day, Ed will be on site interacting with fair goers and judging various activities and prize draws, giving foodie fans the opportunity to stop and chat with the famed chef. With something to suit all tastes, the Treeview Estates Food and Wine Fair will be presenting a fusion of gourmet flavours, from freshly made cheeses and exquisite spices, to gourmet reserves, organic wine and cider, and farm fresh fruit and vegetables amid many others. For a great family day out head out to the retirement village at South Bowenfels and enjoy some celebrity cooking and local produce. For further information contact Treeview on 6352 2148.
