About the role

John Fawkner Private Hospital is looking to employ a Registered Nurse for their Scrub/Scout Unit. Suitable applicants with the right clinical background are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Deliver evidence based nursing care
• Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
• Ensure patient and staff safety
• Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) to deliver patient care
• Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recover
• Assessing and recognising clinical changes and deterioration.
• Possess organisational skills and complete documentation to a high standard.
• Will adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures, contribute to the efficient, effective and economic running of the peri operative service.

John Fawkner Private Hospital is located in the north-west suburbs of Melbourne. With 186 registered beds, an emergency department, 5 operating theatres, 12 bed Critical Care Complex and a busy day surgery/endoscopy unit the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community.

The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.

Essential Criteria:

• Current Registration with AHPRA
• Minimum 2 years' anaesthetic/PARU experience essential
• Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards)
• Working with Children check
• Commitment to Quality Patient Care
• Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
• Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Works well independently and within a team
• Basic computer skills.

If you are successful, you will receive a salary as per Healthscope - Victoria - Nurses and Midwives Agreement 2016-2020 for years of nursing experience, ranging between $35.57 to $42.59 per hour.
