The Company

Our client is a vertically integrated food processing business with operations across Australia. They are a trusted partner with many of the major food retailers in Australia and are looking for a new Management/Cost Accountant to be located in Adelaide.

The Role

This is a challenging, hands on role in which the successful applicant will provide and lead a comprehensive and robust product costing and gross profit model. This will be an ongoing continuous improvement exercise and will make a major contribution to the profitability of the group.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintenance of costing models by product across production locations
• Updating the model with cost movements
• Cost evaluation of changes to goods or services provided
• Comparisons and reporting of actual costs vs model
• Identification of any factors affecting pricing and profitability
• Financial and costing support for NPD
• Inventory management and cycle counting
• Business support for all accounting, budgetinag and audit processes

The Management/Cost Accountant

Our client needs a professional who can hit the ground running. Consequently, FMCG/Fresh Food Industry experience, BOM's, costing and forecasting skills are essential. In addition, the succesful Management/Cost Accountant will have:

• CPA or CA membership
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting or other related commercial discipline
• High proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office Suite
• Demonstrated capabilities in pricing and/or forecasting modelling - with more than 2 years experience in a costing environment
• Very strong cross functional collaboration and communication skills
• Commercial acumen that is supported by acute attention to detail
