Legal Counsel

Your new company
This global business consulting and services company provides group buying & business advisory services, specialising in family owned SMEs as well as supporting various charitable enterprises. They are seeking an experienced legal counsel to join their Australian operations to undertake a broad range of commercial, corporate and compliance legal matters.

Your new role
Reporting to the Head of Legal in Australia, this role supports the business with a range of legal support for all areas of the business including new business activities and relationships with business partners and clients. A particular focus is on providing pragmatic commercial and legal advice to predominantly support the establishment and growth of the Australian and NZ business as well assist in global projects as and when required. You'll also be responsible for ensuring that commercial and legal interests are protected in contract negotiations.

This varied role will see you involved in with contractual matters, acquisitions and divestitures, employment matters, enforcement proceedings, leasing and property matters, intellectual property matters and liability claims, (instructing outside counsel as required)

What you'll need to succeed

• Admitted to practice as a Lawyer
• Ideally 5 - 10 years PAE with significant experience gained in general corporate and commercial law.
• Experience in contract reviewing and drafting, negotiations with good working knowledge of consumer law and employment law
• Sound judgment and outstanding analytical and contract drafting skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and pragmatic approach to all work
• Ability to work to tight and/or conflicting deadlines.
• Ability to provide practical legal advice and risk assessment.
