About Your New Role

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to fill our Community Nurse position which supports our Lithgow customers and team.   

This is an exciting dynamic clinical role offering a Permanent Part-Time contract. Enjoy working within weekday business hours & have your weekends free. No shift work with some travel to surrounding areas involved.

This is a wonderful opportunity to develop/build your Community Nursing career & make it your own.  We are looking for that person who can work with our customers & staff to enhance lives & really make a positive difference.

As a Community Nurse you will be responsible for providing a wide range of clinical services to our Customers with both low and high care/complex needs.

The role will involve:

• Delivering individualised clinical based nursing care to customers living in the home environment ie wound care, PEG changes and care, Bowel care, medication management
• Conducting nursing assessments and developing care / support plans
• Supporting, mentoring and delivering clinical training to our Home Care Workers in the community
• Provide clinical nursing advice and support to our customers and their families
• Liaise closely with our Community Nurse Manager, Branch Manager’s and team, Allied health and community networks to maintain and ensure the highest possible standard of care  

About You:

• Hold a Current APHRA registration and be able to provide a copy of your nursing degree
• Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain prior to commencement
• Current Right to Work (provide evidence if applicable)
• Current police check (or willingness to obtain) 
• Current Australian drivers licence (full and no restrictions)
• Own a fully maintained, registered and insured vehicle for Part time roles.
• Willingness to travel - Role does involve driving and travel between customers and areas as required
• Experience in a community or similar setting desirable
• Demonstrated knowledge or (willingness to learn) in all aspects of catheter care, catheter changes, wound care, PEG management, Chronic & complex care and writing care plans
• Experience in conducting clinical training (or willingness to learn)
• Ability to work independently and part of a remote team.
