With their main manufacturing located in Mt Barker, they are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to take over all improvements in the quality department.

About the Role

The CI Specialist is accountable for ensuring the end-to-end manufacturing process repeatably produces product meeting customer standards. Ensuring that Jurlique's two bottling lines produce high quality product, on-time and in-full each day. Driving steady and step change improvements in direct cost per unit, yield, equipment availability and equipment mechanical efficiency. Ensuring the line is set up and ready to produce new or changed products in line with project plans. Proactively addressing safety hazard promptly to prevent safety incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Using machine and production data lead and/or action improvements to increase OEE, yield and reduce direct cost per unit
• Lead problem solving actions on-line to address gaps against KPAs with both short term (<7days) and medium term (<3months) corrective actions
• Identify, develop, lead and/or contribute to capital projects (>3months) (to drive step change improvements in direct costs, OEE, machine availability, quality, and safety
• Working with Asset Care Team and line operators to ensure that effective preventative maintenance activities are developed to prevent uncontrolled downtime, maintain equipment throughput, and ensure yield targets delivered
• Participate in daily "customer experience" quality reviews of production output to identify potential customer complaints before leaving the factory and identify corrective actions to lift daily quality score
• Report in daily line performance review on-line performance, work with line leaders and supervisors to identify and action corrections to missed targets
• Work with production, quality & scheduling to recover delayed batches

Skills & Experience

• 3+ Years experience in manufacturing in a leadership or continuous improvement role (Cosmetics/FMCG preferred)
• Mechanical Engineering background
• Lean or Six Sigma Qualifications preferred
• Ability to work with cross functional teams
• High work standards & attention to detail
• Passion for continuous improvement and problem solving
• Strong decision making - able to analysis situation, identify and priority needs of those involved and then define a workable solution to deliver the best outcome possible
