APS6 Legal Policy Officer

In this role, you will support policy and legislation changes related to the implementation of the classification. The role will support the establishment of a new independent process to inform Government decisions on annual funding increases through an expansion of the current Independent Pricing Authority.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in interpreting comprehensive legislation and in writing plain English explanations. You will assist in the preparation of time-critical and sensitive documentation such as:

• drafting instructions for primary and/or subordinate legislation
• explanatory memoranda and statements
• analysis of responses to public consultation processes, and
• other associated documentation such as Ministerial Submissions, Briefs and Talking Points.
