More than 300 teams from a variety of schools have competed in the David Peachey Shield-Russel Richardson Cup tournament so far and Lithgow Public School have done enough to reach the finals in both competitions.
Teams from Wellington, Orange, Nyngan, Condobolin, Lithgow, Forbes, Gilgandra, Oberon, Cowra and Gulargambone will compete in both boys’ competitions.
Lithgow Public will face off against schools such as Gulargambone Public, St. Mary’s and Narromine Public school in an attempt to win the day and go through to the next level.
Lithgow Public’s two teams are the only ones competing from Lithgow in either of the tournaments.
The teams participating are the winners and runners up from nine different gala days held across the region in Term One, Lithgow Public School being the victors of the annual gala day held in Portland earlier this year.
To make the day even more special for those competing is the guest appearance of injured Penrith Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards, who will be in Dubbo to oversee all of the games.
The competition has been running for over 15 years, with over 300 school getting involved in 2018.
The day kicks off at 9.30am on Wednesday morning at Apex Oval, Dubbo.
We wish the best of luck to our local boys.
