Spinners stole the jump on Charolais, opening up with a 4-0 burst and still looking comfortable at 8-5 nearing the midway point.
A 4-0 run from Charolais saw them hit the front for the first time at 9-8.
Spinners then replied winning four straight games themselves to go into the doubles ahead 12-9.
The teams fought out two tough doubles rubbers but Spinners were able to secure both by 2-1 margins to close out a 16-11 victory.
Malcolm Jeffries led the way for Spinners at 6-1, with good support from Dave Mays (4-2), while Carol Poole (2-6) was below her best.
All of the Charolais players had up-and-down form on the night, as Sean Jenkins recorded 4-3, Sharnie Roberts 3-4 and Leon Rust 2-5.
Loopers took the first rubber 2-1 in their match with Smashers but they never saw the lead again. Smashers surged ahead 5-3 and 12-6 before cruising to a comfortable 16-10 win.
Mark Watchorn turned around last week’s dismal 0-6 start to the season with the night’s only perfect 6-0 result.
While Riza Wiradi played three three-gamers for 5-4 and Megan Kappos lost several close games to go 2-6.
Roy Barlow broke even for Loopers at 4-4, while substitute Mark McAulay and Michael Wood both recorded 3-5.
The Wrecksavers – Grippers match was marred by Grippers going in a player short and automatically forfeiting eight games.
It may have been an interesting match with a full contingent as the score stood at 7-all after the singles before Wrecksavers won the only doubles 2-0.
The bonus games saw the final score read Wrecksavers 17, Grippers 7.
It was even-stevens for Wrecksavers with Pauline Wellfare finishing 3-3, and both Linda Kappos and Maurie Poole going 2-2.
Lou Kappos (6-1) showed what could have been for Grippers, while a former member of the Association from several years ago, Gavin Lyons, put his hand up as a substitute but struggled to brush off the cobwebs with a 1-6 mark.
Pointscore: Spinners 8, Wrecksavers 8, Charolais 4, Smashers 4, Grippers 1, Loopers 0.
This Week’s Matches for Round 3 are; Loopers versus Spinners while Charolais plays against Grippers and Wrecksavers takes on Smashers.
