Many were disappointed that the North West Queensland-filmed teaser for the Mick Dundee “movie” turned out only to be a tourism ad for Superbowl with calls to #BringBackDundee growing on social media.
Now Mount Isa’s very own Shark has joined the Crocodile chorus.
Golfing great Greg Norman has posted a photo-shopped image of himself in Dundee gear to his Instagram account, followed by 94,500 people.
He asked: “Who saw the teaser trailer to the new Crocodile Dundee movie during Super Bowl?”
“Turns out Tourism Australia was just teasing us, but I think we should campaign to #BringBackDundee,” Norman said.
“Let’s bring Australia to the big screen, AGAIN!”
Norman tagged several famous Hollywood Aussies in his post including Rebel Wilson, Margot Robbie, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman and Chris Hemsworth.
Chris Hemsworth, star of the ad, said he was open to a Dundee film.
